STAG BREWERY PLANS APPROVED BY RICHMOND COUNCIL
A site previously renowned until 2015 for the brewing of Budweiser beer will be redeveloped to create 633 residential units, a care village for up to 150 units plus a secondary school and sixth form for 1,200 pupils.
Richmond Council has now approved the scheme but this will be subject to further conditions. Most of the objections related to the proposed new road layout around Chalkers Corner. As the application was dependent upon the approval of changes to the traffic junction Heads of terms will have to be renegotiated with the developer, Reselton, and planning officers at a later date.
It is also likely that The Mayor of London is likely to call-in the decision anyway as some parts of the development proposals do not comply with the London plan. However, the developer is delighted that the community has supported the development.
