RETIREMENT VILLAGE PLANNED IN UXBRIDGE TOWN CENTRE
A `later living community` development has been proposed for the Halford and Wickes site in Uxbridge by Legal and General subsidiary Guild Living.
The 2.3 acre site will be the company’s first retirement development project in London with an estimated cost of £ 130 million.
The community will have a focus on active independent living for over 70s and is close to shops and transport links in the town centre. Guild Living are of the view that there is a demand locally for a scheme of this nature with over one third of the residents in Hillingdon being over 50 years old.
A public consultation for the scheme has been launched with the developers setting out their vision and approach for this proposed new scheme.
